Occupational/Physical Therapy

We’re here for you and can schedule an appointment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Occupational/Physical therapy in hospice focuses on helping patients live as comfortably, safely, and independently as possible during daily life. Rather than working toward recovery, occupational/physical therapists support patients in adapting to physical changes so they can continue meaningful activities such as dressing, bathing, eating, and spending time with loved ones.

Occupational/Physical therapists assess the patient’s abilities, environment, and personal goals, then recommend practical strategies, adaptive equipment, and gentle techniques to conserve energy and reduce strain. This may include simplifying tasks, modifying the home setting, and teaching safe ways to move and perform daily activities to prevent falls and discomfort.

Occupational/Physical therapy also supports caregivers by offering hands-on education and guidance. Therapists teach caregivers safe transfer techniques, positioning for comfort, and ways to assist with daily care while protecting both the patient and caregiver from injury. Through these supportive interventions, occupational/physical therapy helps enhance comfort, dignity, and quality of life throughout the hospice journey.
